Pacific Timesheet Update

Version 6.76 Build 382, July 5, 2010

This page documents all new features, enhancements and bug fixes included in this release of Pacific Timesheet. For information on changes made in previous versions of Pacific Timesheet, please see the release notes archive.

New Features and Enhancements

1. New Employee Permissions - 'Can Edit My Account' and 'Can Edit My Approvers'

Two new employee permissions are available on the System > Security page. The 'Can Edit My Account' employee permission allows you to control whether employees can edit their account information (email address, phone number, etc.). The 'Can Edit My Approvers' employee permission allows you to control whether employees can change who approves their timesheets and leave requests.

2. New 'Manage Custom Reports' Page

If you are logged into Pacific Timesheet as an administrator (in particular, you have the 'Can manage system settings' permission) you will now be able to manage all custom reports, not just the ones you created. This will allow administrators the ability to edit reports they did not create, as well as change the ownership. In this way, if an employee has published a report, an administrator will be able to make changes to it even if that employee is not available. You can access the 'Manage Custom Reports' page by clicking the tools menu in the upper right corner of the 'My Reports' or 'Published Reports' sections of the Reports page.

3. Scheduled Export Changes

When scheduled exports (System > General > Data Integration page) run, if a file with the same name as the new export file already exists then it will be renamed by appending ".bak" to it. In this way one backup file is always maintained, in case you need to access the data again.

Scheduled exports can now optionally export the file using PGP encryption. You can learn more by going to the System > General > Data Integration page and clicking the online help link.

Fixes

4. Automatic Meal Deduction Issue

Fixed an issue in which the Policies > Time Entry Rules > Automatic Meal Deduction rule could erroneously deduct an extra meal from a day's work. This issue generally only happened if punches were being rounded to less than 15 minutes, or not being rounded at all.

5. Request Rejected Email Notice Issue

Fixed an issue in which an incorrect request date was shown in the Request Rejected notice email sent to someone if their request was rejected.

6. Home Page Punch In/Out Issue

Fixed an issue in which the Punch In/Out link did not always reliably toggle the employee's current punch state. In addition, the time of the punch in or out is displayed in a clear message on the Home tab.
