Pacific Timesheet Update

Version 6.65 Build 232, August 24, 2009

This page documents all new features, enhancements and bug fixes included in this release of Pacific Timesheet. For information on changes made in previous versions of Pacific Timesheet, please see the release notes archive.

New Features and Enhancements

1. Scheduled Timesheet Export (Self-Hosted Only)

You can now schedule an automatic timesheet export, which will generate a CSV or XLS export file on the server. This is useful when integrating with other back-office systems such as payroll or billing systems. To learn more about this feature go to the System > General > Data Integration > Timesheet Export page and click the Help link in the upper-right corner.

2. Balance Rollover Can Place Excess Hours Into Separate Balance

When annual balance rollovers happen, normally the excess hours are just subtracted from the balance. Now you specify a separate balance for excess hours to be added to.

3. Custom Report Filter

You can specify a custom report filter using SQL on most reports now. This allows you to limit the data or records returned in any number of ways, such as based on particular custom field values, time entry notes, etc.

4. Fiscal Year Support

You can now set up fiscal year and quarter time periods from the System > General > Time Periods page. In this way you can have fiscal year and quarter time periods show up on the date range menus on the Timesheets, Approvals and Reports pages.

5. Memorized Time Periods

Time periods on the Timesheets and Approvals tabs are now memorized. For instance, if you normally list the last semi-monthly timesheets, each time you access the list it will default to the last semi-month, rather than the last 7 days.

Fixes

6. Custom Report Error Handling Improvement

When custom reports have invalid SQL, a more clear error message will be appear on the report page. Previously, you had to look at log files to determine the root cause in some cases.

7. Unsubmitting Timesheets Marked as Exported No Longer Allowed

Timesheets that have been marked as exported can no longer be unsubmitted, except by an administrator. Any changes that need to be made should be done using the timesheet correction feature. This prevents changes being made to already-processed time entries. Note that marking timesheets as exported is optional - you choose this option from the export dialog when exporting timesheets.

8. Partial Day Leave Request Change

In previous versions, if you created a partial day leave request the leave hours could never be greater than the "Hours Per Day" property on System > General page. You can now enter up to 11.99 hours for a partial day leave request, even if the "Hours Per Day" property is only 8.0, for instance.
