Pacific Timesheet Update

Version 5.1 Build 17, July 28, 2006

This page documents all feature enhancements and bug fixes included in the Pacific Timesheet 5.1 update. For information on changes made in previous versions of Pacific Timesheet, please see the release notes archive.

New Features

1. Employee Self-Service for Resetting Passwords.

Employees can request a forgotten password without asking their administrator, directly from the login page.

Enhancements and Fixes

2. Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) Support.

Ajax is now used in several places in the product to improve the end-user experience. The timesheet uses Ajax to build the list of last-used projects and tasks in the background. Leave or time-off requests use Ajax to calculate remaining balances, meaning the page no longer needs to reload when the start or end date changes. Ajax will be added to other pages going forward where it can help reduce the number of page loads.

3. Maximum Timesheet Note Size Increased.

Timesheet notes, and notes on other objects such as Employees, Projects and Task, have had their maximum size bumped up to 4000 characters, from a previous maximum of 2000.
