Pacific Timesheet Update

Version 3.1 Build 18, July 9, 2004

This page documents all feature enhancements and bug fixes included in the Pacific Timesheet 3.1 update. For information on changes made in previous versions of Pacific Timesheet, please see the release notes archive.

New Features

1. New J2EE Architecture.

Pacific Timesheet now runs as a full J2EE service, providing increased performance and reliability. This also means Pacific Timesheet can run on all major platforms that support J2EE, such as Windows, Linux, Mac OSX and more.

2. Revamped User Experience.

Pacific Timesheet incorporates all of the feedback from previous versions to provide a new, flexible and easy-to-use interface. Setting up your timesheet system is much easier than before, and your employees will find it extremely easy to get started recording their time.

3. Independent/Dependent Task Levels.

The work breakdown structure (for example Client > Project > Task) can be either dependent or independent. This means that some parts can be hierarchical where it makes sense (such as projects depend on client) while others can be independent (such as tasks that can be used across all projects). This can significantly simplify the maintenance of your work breakdown structure.

Enhancements and Fixes

4. Calendar Pop-Up.

A new pop-up calendar is available throughout Pacific Timesheet to make it easy for users to select dates.

5. Context-Sensitive Help.

The new context-sensitive online help will open to the topic appropriate for the page you are on.
